Meet your driver and begin your guided sightseeing tour of the Pink City.
Amber Fort is about 11 km north of Jaipur and is open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. This large fort and palace was built around 1600 by Raja Man Singh and was home to the Kachwaha rulers until 1727. It combines Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. The fort is named after the town of Amber, which was named after the goddess Amba, not because of its yellow color.
One of the main attractions is the Sheesh Mahal, a hall covered with thousands of small mirror tiles on the walls and ceiling. The fort is very large, and there is not much written information inside, so using an audio guide or hiring a guide can be helpful. A guide usually costs about Rs 70–100. Guides may also take visitors to a government souvenir shop, where they receive a small commission on purchases.
City Palace, located inside Jaipur’s old city near Hawa Mahal, is a grand blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the vast complex features courtyards, gardens, and iconic structures like Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, and the ornate Ridhi Sidhi Pol.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or heritage café (recommendations provided on request).
Jantar Mantar, located near the City Palace and open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest of five astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II between 1727–1734. It features 14 massive instruments used to measure time, track stars, and study celestial movements, with clear on-site signage and optional guides for better understanding.
Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Singh, was an extension of the royal women’s chambers. This five-storey red sandstone structure features over 950 windows, allowing cool breezes to circulate and enabling royal ladies to observe street life unseen.
Explore Jaipur’s vibrant markets, where you can discover local art, hand-printed textiles, gemstones, jewelry, and traditional Rajasthani crafts, while experiencing the city’s rich culture and everyday life.
